Pennsylvania had been the part of Delaware before it was colonized by Europeans. It was entered to United States in December 12, 1787. Its capital is the city of Harrisburg. It is bordered by New York and Lake Erie on its northern side. West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey are located on its southern side. New York and New Jersey meet each other on its eastern border. On the western side it meets up the border of Ohio. Allegheny, Susquehanna, Delaware and Ohio are the major rivers of the state. The most important products of the manufacturing industry are chemicals. Food processing is one of the emerging industries of the state. It is the second largest manufacturing sector, contributing with great revenues to the manufacturing industry of the state of Pennsylvania.
